IOL Club is an independent worldwide community for students preparing for the International Linguistics Olympiad. We are not the official IOL board and we do not represent the host country jury. Our posts are not endorsements.
To make that distinction clear in practice, here is how each bulletin is vetted before it goes live:
- Source check. Every factual claim (date, location, prize, rule) links to the official IOL site ioling.org or the relevant national olympiad page. If the source is the IOL Club mentor pool, the post is marked Opinion.
- Two-mentor review. A post written by mentor A is reviewed by mentor B before publication. Disagreements are resolved by going to the primary source.
- Dated rewrites. When facts change (a deadline moves, a venue changes), we add a dated note at the top and keep the old text below struck through. We never silently overwrite a post.
- Reader correction channel. Spotted an error? WhatsApp us with the page link and a corrected source. We acknowledge within forty-eight hours.
The standards above are not a guarantee – mistakes will still happen on a club run by volunteers. They are a commitment to fix mistakes fast and transparently when they do.
